I added ethnic foods and western foods to the list because as a family we have found that buying meats, spices and produce at the local ethnic market is about 15% cheaper than buying it at the grocery store. We have also found that ethnic meals use “ingredients” like rice and beans where western meals call for higher priced meats and produce.
The above list is simply that a list and it reflects our “buy this, not that” alternatives. You may have your own alternatives and ideas that help you save money. A friend of ours only shops big box stores and case lots and saves money that way.
