Sometimes You Just Need Simple and FREE!
Today, my husband, son and I enjoyed an amazingly simple day full of quading, camping and a beautiful picnic. We took to the back roads of British Columbia and spent the day by the Fraser River. Enjoying the beautiful outdoors like a lot of other families over the summer holidays.
I am writing both about the beautifully simple and cost free day, but also about the comradery back road travelers and campers have. If you desire to see human being helping each other and residing together take a trip to the back roads.
During our trip I watched people pulling stuck vehicles out of the mud, helping car owners change flat tires, lending supplies to those without. I watched adults looking out for others children and cheering them on during the day’s activities. I watched families spend quality un-computerized time together enjoying the outdoors.
Granted this coffee loving city girl didn’t get as muddy as the rest I did have an amazing day. I enjoyed the beautiful mountain and river views while sitting in my comfy camping chair curled up with a good book. I enjoyed the simpleness, the lack of busy city noise. I proudly watched as strangers cheered my son on while he road his dirt bike and spent time with his father.
Sometimes we need to breathe in the fresh air, take a step back from the busy and be simple. Getting back to nature is good for the soul and cheap on the pocket book.
