The biggest thing to derail our budget was eating out.
Not just meals, it was coffee and snacks. Think about it if you have a latté every morning Monday thru Friday you are spending over $30 a week on coffee and that is just the morning swing through the drive thru. Add in a breakfast sandwich and you are spending approximately $15-20 a week.
Weekly meals out.
Whether you are eating out as a family or hitting the drive thru before ball practice or after ballet the cost adds up. If a family of four ate out at an average sit down restaurant one night a week they would spend approximately $60-$80 for drinks and main course. Add in appetizers and dessert and you are well over $100. Do this a couple times a week and your budget may just fall out of bed. This is what happened to us. Between working late and grabbing a meal here and there in between classes and dining out on Friday night as a family the “eating out” began adding up. So we came up with a solution.
The solution is easy.
Instead of eating out eat in. Plan some amazing meals. Pack your meals to go if you have ball practice and back to back activities. If you are looking for a great meal plan look into My Freezeasy they have amazing meals.
